Comet Howell is a short period comet orbiting the sun once every 5.5 years. Discovered on 29 August 1981 by Ellen Howell, its an average size at 4.4km. The comet next reaches perihelion on 04 April, 2015 when it is expected to reach visual magnitude 8 visible in the Southern hemisphere throughout April and May.
